This course is designed specifically for tutoring students who are experiencing learning difficulties. Like other HillSprings classes, the student to teacher ratio is no more than 4:1. Instruction is based on the Orton-Gillingham approach and is individualized, systematic, and multisensory.
Classes meet twice a week from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students enroll in either reading/writing or math. Parent conferences are scheduled at the end of each semester and may occur more frequently upon request. Click here to learn more about the admissions process.

*Classes will not be held on federal holidays, Halloween, and the weeks of Thanksgiving and Spring Break. Should class be cancelled for inclement weather, additional days will be added at the end of each session.
Reading Tutoring (HillRAP)
Instruction includes oral language development, phonological awareness, word attack/sight word reading, spelling, fluency and reading comprehension.
Math Tutoring (HillMath)
Instruction includes reinforcing automatic recall of math facts, developing number sense, improving speed and accuracy in computation, understanding math concepts, and increasing problem-solving skills.
Writing Tutoring (HillWrite)
Instruction includes spelling, grammar/mechanics, and sentence/paragraph writing.
Admission to the After-School Program does not require a diagnosis of a learning disability and/or attention deficit disorder.
